Privacy Policy — Fiber Tracker

The short version

Fiber Tracker has no accounts and no third-party ads, and does not track you. Your food, symptom and water logs are stored on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, in your personal iCloud database that only you can access — never on our servers.

What the app stores

Food entries, saved meals, symptom check-ins, water intake and your profile (age, sex, height, weight, activity level and goals) are stored locally on your device. If you're signed into iCloud, Apple syncs them through your private CloudKit database. We cannot read this data.

Apple Health

If you connect Apple Health, the app writes the dietary fiber of each entry you log and reads dietary fiber recorded by other apps. Health data stays in Apple Health on your device; it is never sent to us or to any third party, and it is never used for advertising.

AI photo logging (OpenAI)

AI photo logging is optional and sends data off your device only after you have given permission in the app (Fiber Tracker asks before the first use; you can withdraw permission any time in Profile → AI features):

• What is sent: the meal photo you choose, plus a random app-generated identifier used only to limit daily usage. Your profile, food, symptom and water logs, and Apple Health data are never sent.
• Who receives it: our server, hosted on Cloudflare, forwards the photo to OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C., USA), whose model estimates the food, its fiber and the plants in it.
• How it is used: solely to produce the estimate you asked for. We do not store photos on our server beyond the request; we keep only a daily usage count per identifier, which expires after about a day. Under OpenAI's API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train OpenAI's models. See OpenAI's privacy policy and OpenAI's API data commitments.

Please don't photograph anything you'd rather keep private. If you decline, search, barcode, recipe and manual logging keep working.

Barcode and recipe lookups

When you scan or type a barcode, the app sends only that barcode number to Open Food Facts to look up the product. When you paste a recipe link, the app downloads that web page directly from the recipe site to read its ingredients. No personal information is attached to either request.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. To validate purchases we use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous purchase receipt and a random app-generated identifier — never your name, email or Apple ID. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Analytics and tracking

The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.

Deleting your data

Profile → Delete all my data erases every entry, your profile and the fiber samples the app wrote to Apple Health. Deleting the app removes local data; iCloud data can be removed in iPhone Settings → your name → iCloud.
